Members can be granted up to $500 CND towards their rent/ mortgage to assist them in being able to have a place to live and have peace of mind knowing they do not have to get caught up in the payday loan cycle.

FinLit U

FinLitU is a 4 to 8-week masterclass program and an extension of the BMC FinLit Summit.

Statistically, there is a lack of financial literacy within our community and this program serves to bridge the gap between financial literacy and the Black community.

Members will strengthen their relationship with money, be given the knowledge to navigate financial systems, as well as increase confidence and awareness of finance.

We assist Black mothers in breaking the systemic racial barriers to gaining overall financial support in efforts to support moms in building a positive cycle of generational wealth.

“You Okay Mama?”

Often mothers are the main caregivers of their families and the last ones to be asked if they are okay.

Our newest program which is a health and
wellness-focused program called “YouOkayMama?” is a series of wellness workshops and retreats. The main focus is the physical, emotional, and mental
health of Black moms; however, this program is more than just that.

“YouOkayMama?” also provides preventative support to moms by teaching them
important life skills such as self-care, goal setting, and problem-solving.

Online Private Facebook Community

BMC started as an online membership on our Facebook group for Black Moms, over the years we have expanded into an online community of
approximately 40,000 members.

This online platform serves as a safe space for
members to share their experiences of Black motherhood as well as seek support for the struggles specifically faced by the community. Here we can laugh, cry, and empower each other without feeling judged or excluded.

emergency grant funding

The Emergency Funding Grant is a financial emergency fund of up to $250 CND for Canadian and US members who find themselves in an emergency situation.

This emergency grant will assist in providing basic needs for a family such as food, water, or diapers when there is an emergency situation.

Moms Who Read

Moms Who Read is an exclusive virtual book club created by Black Moms for Black Moms.

This program is a fun, safe, quiet, and peaceful space, which allows you to take time out of your day, to focus on something outside of being a mom. This group serves as a safe place where the voices of Black Women Authors are amplified. Where we
discuss their work and have amazing conversations without judgment and criticism.

Here you have a voice, time to breathe, and just BE.
